Into China Guide ("we", "this site", intochinaguide.com) is a static informational website. This policy explains what limited data is processed when you visit.

What we collect

Our tools (such as the visa-free checker and trip planner) run entirely in your browser. Your selections — like your nationality or itinerary — stay in your own browser's local storage unless you explicitly submit them to us through one of the forms described below. We do not operate user accounts.

Booking-help form

If you use the restaurant booking-help form, we store what you enter — the restaurant, city, date, party size, any notes, your name (optional), and your email address — for one purpose only: contacting the restaurant and replying to you with the result. The data is stored securely with our hosting provider (Cloudflare), is never sold or shared with third parties beyond what's needed to arrange your booking, and is not used for marketing. To have your request deleted, email [email protected] and we'll remove it.

Trip review & checklist email forms

If you request a free itinerary review, we store the itinerary you built, your email address, and any notes you add — for one purpose only: writing the review and replying to you. If you ask for your checklist by email, we store the checklist content and your email address to send that one email. In both cases the data is stored securely with our hosting provider (Cloudflare), is never sold or shared, and is not used for marketing or newsletters. To have your data deleted, email [email protected].

Policy change alerts

If you subscribe to entry-policy change alerts, we store your email address (and, if you subscribed from a country-specific page, that country) for one purpose only: emailing you when China's visa or entry rules change. No newsletters, no marketing, and your address is never sold or shared. To unsubscribe, reply "unsubscribe" to any of our emails or write to [email protected] and we'll remove you.

Chrome extension (China Visa-Free Checker)

Our Chrome extension uses the browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local) to remember the single passport country you last selected, purely so you don't have to re-select it every time you open the popup. That is the only data the extension stores, and the only permission it requests. This data stays on your own device — the extension makes no network requests, sends nothing to us or anyone else, and does not use analytics, tracking, or remote code of any kind. Uninstalling the extension removes this data.

Analytics

We use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics to understand which pages are useful (e.g., page views, country-level region, referrer). This data cannot identify you personally.

Advertising and cookies

This site may display advertising served by third parties, including Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' cookies at www.aboutads.info.

Affiliate links

Some guides may contain affiliate links to travel services (such as eSIM providers or booking platforms). If you purchase through these links, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships never change our recommendations, and such links are used only where the product is genuinely relevant.

External links

We link to official government sources and third-party services. Their privacy practices are their own; review their policies when you visit.
