Affiliate links and how this site is funded
Some links to booking sites — train tickets and hotels in particular — are affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission if you book through them, at no extra cost to you. This never changes what we recommend: routes, hotels and services are chosen on the same basis whether or not a commission exists, and we link to official Chinese booking channels (12306, museum WeChat accounts, airline sites) with no commission attached wherever those are the better option for you. The site also carries display advertising. Where a page mentions a paid service we offer ourselves, such as itinerary review or booking help, it says so plainly.
Prices, times and figures
Fares, ticket prices, opening hours and journey times are checked on the date shown on each page and change without notice. Where a figure is an estimate rather than a direct check, the page says so. Treat every number here as the shape of the thing rather than a quotation — confirm the current price with the operator before you rely on it.
Third-party services
Guides on this site describe how to use services run by other companies and agencies — Alipay, WeChat, DiDi, the 12306 railway system, museum reservation systems, airlines and hotels. We are not affiliated with any of them, cannot act on your behalf with them, and cannot resolve disputes between you and them. Their terms, prices and eligibility rules are theirs to change, and sometimes they change without an announcement.
Corrections
When we find that something we published was wrong, we change the page and record the change in the corrections log. If you spot an error, please tell us — visa and entry policy corrections are treated as urgent.
